RepoForge SFTP is now available: a managed SFTP server at sftp.repoforge.io, sold on its own or alongside the package registry.
You create users in the dashboard, give each one an SSH key or a password and a home folder, and connect with any SFTP client. Files are stored in Amazon S3.
What it does:
- Per-user logins with their own permissions: upload only, download only, or both.
- Public-key or password auth. Keys are preferred; passwords are generated and shown once.
- Files stored in Amazon S3.
- A usage panel and an audit log, so you can see who fetched what.
What it costs: £20 a month for 5 users, 50 GB of storage and 50 GB of downloads a month. Beyond that: £2 per user, 5p per GB stored, 10p per GB downloaded. It’s an add-on to any paid plan, or you can take it on its own if you don’t need the package registry.
To try it, open SFTP in the dashboard sidebar and add it, or sign up for SFTP on its own. The docs cover FileZilla, WinSCP, the sftp command and paramiko, and list the host key fingerprints you’ll want to pin.
